What is easyVZ?

easyVZ is a GPL ('free') GUI Control-Panel to OpenVZ. OpenVZ is is an open source virtualization solution built on Linux. OpenVZ creates multiple, isolated, secure 'Virtual Servers' ('VS') on a single physical server/machine/node/box. Each VS performs and executes exactly like a stand-alone server; VS's can be rebooted independently and have root access, users, IP addresses, memory, processes, files, applications, Linux version, system libraries and configuration files.

Like the OpenVZ project, easyVZ is distributed under GPL. It is an open source project and intended to provide access to the code and ultimately for the open source community to test, develop and further (a GUI to) OS virtualization.

easyVZ can support hundreds of VS's on a single physical server due to the use of OpenVZ's operating system-level virtualization, allowing VS's to have many different distributions of Linux.

• After selecting your distri and options, execute the following commands w. a single click: configure, start, stop and delete a VS, execute commands in/to a VS:

# vzctl create VS-ID --ostemplate osname
# vzctl set VS-ID --ipadd 1.1.1.1 --save
# vzctl set VS-ID --nameserver 2.2.2.2 --save
# vzctl start VS-ID
# vzctl exec VS-ID ps ax
# vzctl stop VS-ID
# vzctl destroy VEID

easyVZ - what is planned for the next version:

• The current version of easyVZ only covers the Admin-Side of OpenVZ GUI. The next version will alllow the VS-User (your client) to manage his private VS independently from your support (but within the limits defined by you), via a GUI.
